Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express Derails Near Asangaon

Nagpur-bound Duronto Express derailed on Tuesday near Asangaon in Maharashtra, seven coaches were thrown off the track. According to the railway officials, a rescue team has reached from Kalyan and no casualties have been reported so far.

 

Recently, a Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Express also derailed in Auraiya district on August 23rd. 81 people were injured in the accident with nine coaches going off the tracks in Uttar Pradesh. On August 19th, another train, the Kalinga Utkal Express, had derailed in Muzaffarnagar with 22 deaths in the accident.
 
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu feels morally responsible for these accidents and had offered a voluntary resignation but the Prime Minister asked him to “wait”.
