Disgusting' tenants evicted from north west London home after 'urinating in neighbours' gardens'

A group of “disgusting” tenants have been evicted after they were caught “urinating, spitting and littering” in their neighbours gardens.

Harrow council was flooded with complaints from homeowners in Kenton following a spate of anti-social incidents by the group.

Nearby homeowners suffered “non-stop loud music, constant loitering and strange comings-and-goings at all hours”, the council said.

Residents also reported them spitting and urinating in their gardens.

Council officers eventually raided the home, where they found a “death trap” with a dozen occupants crammed inside.

They also found no safe fire exit, overloaded extension cables and just a single toilet shared between them – without any water in.

Their landlord was handed a one-week ultimatum by Harrow council to leave the property and fix the home.

The property had become so deprecated that officers banned the use of its second floor until it is renovated.

Simon Baxter, divisional director for environment and culture, said: “These tenants behaved terribly – but they also lived in terrible danger.

“They were the landlord’s responsibility, and we will not tolerate our neighbourhoods becoming a haven for illegal and disgusting behaviour.

“Now his tenants are all gone, we’ll leave it to him to explain things to his long-suffering neighbours – and his bank manager.”
