Amir of Qatar, Top Leaders congratulate Qatar national team for reaching semi-finals of Asian Cup

Congratulations poured in for the team soon after the Al Annabi stunned the Koreans.

“Congratulations to our national team for this remarkable achievement and its ascent to the semi-finals of the tournament. Wishing our heroes to continue this winning streak and outstanding performance until the end of the tournament,” the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani said in a tweet.

In a tweet, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani said, “We congratulate our national team on its outstanding victory, qualifying for the first time for the semifinals. We wish success in the next match and in the final.”

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani said, “We congratulate our national team on the outstanding performance and qualifying for semi-finals in the tournament. We wish more achievements.” 

 

Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al Thani said, “Qatar rewrites the history with the outstanding ascent to the semi-finals of the Asian Cup at the expense of the South Korean team. Collective play, combat spirit and professional performance. Things mingled with national sentiment and the spirit of defiance to write a new chapter in this Qatari football history tonight,” Sheikh Joaan said in a tweet.

“Congratulations to Al-Annabi for the deserved win against South Korea. And a tribute to all the players and the technical and administrative team on this achievement,” HE Sheikh Thani bin Hamad al Thani said in a tweet.

Qatar will now meet the UAE in the semi-finals on Tuesday (January 29).
