Qatar make Asian Cup history as Hatem strikes

World Cup 2022 hosts Qatar left a mark on the world in Abu Dhabi on Friday as they raged into the semi-finals of Asian Cup 2019, stunning pre-competition top picks South Korea with 1-0 drubbing. 

The match-victor for Qatar came through Abdulaziz Hatim with a staggering late strike which upset star striker Son Heung-min's team. 

Congrats poured in for the team not long after the Al Annabi staggered the Koreans.

Qatar Olympic Committee President HE Sheik Joaan bin Hamad al Thani stated, "Qatar revamps the history with the remarkable rising to the semi-finals of the Asian Cup to the detriment of the South Korean group. Qatar will currently meet the UAE in the semi-finals on Tuesday (January 29).
