Zinedine Zidane set to replace sacked Julen Lopetegui in Real Madrid? Here's an update

After a humiliating 5-1 loss to FC Barcelona at Camp Nou, Real Madrid sacked their manager of around four months Julen Lopetegui on Tuesday.

Real, who are placed as low as No. 9 on the La Liga's table, have been struggling ever since the 2018-19 season began and they let Cristiano Ronaldo move to Juventus.

Out of 10 La Liga games, Real have won just four, lost four and drew two.

While Real Madrid B's coach, coach Santiago Solari has taken over the charge on a temporary basis, Real are desperately looking for a permanent option.

Even before Lopetegui was sacked, there were rumours of Antonio Conte soon to replace him. Now that Real have sacked Lopetegui, there are new rumours revolving around their manager's spot that is vacant.

According to the media reports, Los Blancos players want Zinedine Zidane back as their head coach only months after he quit.

Zidane stepped down from his managerial post this past summer after leading Real to three Champions League titles and a La Liga trophy.

Apart from the trophies he has won with the club, he is very popular among the Real fans and the players as well for his efficient management of the dressing room atmosphere. Hence, the news is hardly a surprise considering Real's atrocious run so far in the season.
