21-Year-Old Chinese Woman Goes Partially Blind After Getting Addicted To A Mobile Game

They say excess of everything is bad. And one girl learned this lesson the hard way after she lost her vision due to incessantly playing a smartphone game for long hours.
A 21-year-old Chinese woman, who uses the pseudonym Wu Xiaojing, went partially blind due to the excessive playing of a game on her mobile phone.

This unfortunate incident happened after she spent a whole day playing King Glory, a mobile phone game apparently quite popular in China.
She was playing the game for quite a few hours without a break when she suddenly lost the vision in her right eye. Wu was immediately taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with Retinal Artery Occlusion (RAO).

The smartphone game lover admitted to being addicted to the game to an extent that she would play it for up to 8 hours straight without eating, drinking or even taking a toilet break.
On days when she didn't go to work, she would wake up at 6 in the morning and play the game till 4 in the evening right after having breakfast. She also revealed that she spent the entire day of October 1 playing the game and lost her eyesight after dinner.

Retinal Artery Occlusion is a blockage in one of the small arteries that carry blood to the retina. It's usually found in the elderly and young people are rarely seen suffering from it.
One can definitely learn from Wu's experience.
