Home Remedies For Urinary Tract Infections

Urinary tract infections are more common in women than in men because the urethra is shorter in women.

Symptoms of a urinary tract infection are burning when you urinate, frequency, cloudy urine, and feeling of a full bladder .

According to the WebMD website, it is possible to treat a urinary tract infection from home if it is detected early. But if you see that it does not improve you need to seek professional help to prevent damage to the kidneys.

Here we offer some home remedies to relieve the symptoms of urinary tract infections and to prevent them . But it is important to clarify that most of the time these home remedies work for mild or just beginning infections. When the urinary tract infection has developed it is best to seek medical attention. Urinary tract infections that are not treated properly can advance the kidneys and cause complications and damage.

Home Remedies for Urinary Tract Infections

1. Baking soda

At the first symptoms of infection in the urine prepare the following drink. In a glass with 125ml of water, dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda.

Take two glasses of plain water and then drink the glass with baking soda.

2. Drink enough water

The more water you drink, the more urine your bacteria will eliminate and the urine will be less irritating as it will be more dilute.

3. Extract of olive leaf and turmeric to combat urinary tract infection

I know a person who had recurrent urinary tract infections and had already been immune to several antibiotics. And the olive leaf extract with turmeric removed the infections. What happens is that in some cases the bacteria hides while the person takes the antibiotics and comes back out when they are over.

Another problem with E. coli bacteria (which is usually the cause of urinary tract infections) is that it creates a protective layer around it that protects it from the antibiotic.

It is believed that turmeric can destroy that protective layer and that the olive leaf extract kills the bacteria wherever it is aimed. The recommendation is 180mg of oleuropein divided into 3 doses during the day for 7 days and one teaspoon of turmeric powder for adults. For children 2 to 12 years old 40 mg of oleuropein divided into 3 doses during the day for 7 days and a half teaspoon of turmeric per day. Do not use in children younger than 2 years.

Important – By destroying the protective layer of the bacteria toxins accumulate in the body and liver and the person can become severely sick. It is recommended to start a medical treatment before starting this natural treatment to remove most of the bacteria and reduce the bacteria in the body. That way, the toxins that will be released are diminished.

4. Cranberry Juice (cranberry)

It is proven that taking cranberry juice prevents bacteria from sticking to the walls of the urinary tract making it easier to remove them in the urine.

5. Coconut water and coconut oil

Coconut oil is a powerful antibacterial that can kill E. coli bacteria even when it has become resistant to antibiotics. On the other hand, coconut water is effective to eliminate impurities in the kidneys .

The way to use this remedy to eliminate a urinary infection is to ingest two tablespoons of virgin and unrefined coconut oil during the day. Also take one cup of coconut water on an empty stomach and another before bed.
