EXPAT JOB CHANGE: Now Expat WORKERS Can APPLY Online For Job Change

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has updated a link on its official website for expatriate workers seeking job change and other services as per the new residency law.

Applicants can avail the services of ‘employer change’ and ‘leave the country’ through the link titled ‘Worker Notice e-service’. The applicants have to enter their Qatar IDs and mobile number.

The new rule stipulates that an expatriate can change jobs provided the new employer has an approval for a position for the same nationality, gender and profession, as reported by Gulf Times.

Therefore, the worker seeking a job change is required to submit a request to the ministry 30 days before the contract comes to an end, in case of a fixed–term contract.

The worker should stay not less than five years in service, in case of an open-ended contract and the notice period would be 30 days if the duration of service is five years, and 60 days, if the duration of service is more than five years.
