9 Belladonna
Belladonna is a plant and its name comes from Italian language meaning beautiful woman. It was a favorite of females at one point because it was used for cosmetic purposes. If rubbed on cheeks it would create a reddish color and if in diluted form dropped in eyes, would make women more seductive but if ingested, it would serve as one of the most lethal form of poisons.
It was used for poisoning purpose after this discovery and poison-tipped arrows were made using Belladonna. The berries of this plant are poisonous and were used to kill people who did not know what they were ingesting. People who used this poison are not known but legends has it that when Agrippina the Younger hired a serial killer to kill the Roman Emperor Claudius, she used Belladonna.
