Why should they hire you?

This is your chance to impress your prospective employer. You should talk about how you will benefit the company and how your strengths align with the goals of the company. 

 

What is your greatest professional achievement?

Always make sure that you don’t talk about your role in your previous job. Try and talk about the actions you put in place to tackle a problem that you faced which working and how it benefitted your previous company.

Why did you leave your previous job?

Stick to the precise reason why you quit your job. Be concise about it and don’t give too many details if you didn’t have a very good experience while leaving your previous company.

How good are you at handling stress?

Give an example of any instance in your previous company where you were under pressure and talk about how you solved the problem without getting flustered and not getting too many people involved to solve the problem you were facing.

Why were you unemployed for longer than usual between jobs?

Be direct with your answer. If you had taken up a course in between jobs then make sure you mention that to the interviewer and try to talk about how you will benefit your current organization if you are selected.

Why have you changed your industry of work?

Talk about how your strengths and how you can adapt and mold yourself to the company culture around you. Make sure the interviewer knows that you have a vast knowledge and you can do multiple jobs with equal efficiency.

What are your future goals?

This is usually a trick question so that the interviewer knows if you’re going to stick around for a long time or if you’ll be off in a flash when a better opportunity arrives. Always talk about how you’ll be focussed on this job and how you are looking to build a career with this organization.

What do you usually do outside of work?

Here you can talk about your interests. Try and mention at least 5 interests so that you across as a person who has multiple hobbies and interests. Talk about the sports you follow or discuss the kind of books you like to read.

What do you think can be improved in the organization?

Sometimes interviewers ask you this question to see if you can think outside the box. Don’t try and give them a strategy that can revolutionize their business, but try and talk about a few things that can be done differently to see better results.

What are your salary expectations?

The whole reason why most of us do a job is to be compensated well at the end of it all. Try and find out your market worth by using various internet job sites which help you know what you can demand as compensation. Always start with the highest figure and negotiate wisely. Don’t give in to the first figure put out by the interviewer.

Always be dressed smartly and go with a positive attitude. Your first impression can go a long way in how your colleagues will look at you.
