The Mars family is known to own one of the best confectionary co. Mars, Inc. It has an annual sale of US$ 33 billion and is the 6th biggest private co. of America. The whole business is owned by Mars Family. The net worth of the family is estimated to be $80 billion.
The company was started by Franklin Clarence Mars and was later taken over by Forrest Sr. his son in 1929. The company is known for being very secretive and did not Forrest Sr. until he died or that he was a part of the company. The children of Forrest Sr. Forrest Jr. and took over after his death. Presently the CEO and president of the company is Grant F. Reid and the Chairman is Victoria B. Mars. The company is mainly known for its chocolates namely Snickers, Mars Bars, M&M’s, Twix and Milky Way bars. The company has also ventured into petcare, food, drinks and Symbioscience.
