Expat held for smuggling 43 kilos of drugs

The Coast Guard personnel have arrested an unidentified Iranian for allegedly attempting to smuggle into the country 43 kilos of drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the arrest came after Coast Guard officers, monitoring the maritime border, received a signal through the radar monitoring about strange object at sea. Soon the patrol boats moved to the site and took the Iranian infiltrator into custody and handed him over to the competent authorities.

 

During investigation, he confessed that he had brought a quantity of narcotic drugs and buried them on the shore of one of the islands.

The men immediately went to the site and dug out 43 kilos of drugs. He also confessed to plans to sell the drugs into the country. Police are investigating the modus operandi and trying to find out if this was the first operation .
