More than 300 expats arrested in Oman this week

A total of 330 expats were arrested for violating the Labour Law and another 339 deported in one week, Oman's Ministry of Manpower announced.

The Ministry released its weekly indicators of expat workers who were arrested in joint operations. The workers were arrested between February 17 and 23, 2019. The arrested included 207 runaway workers, 88 undocumented workers and 25 violators who were referred to the ministry by other bodies. 

 

Muscat, the capital, recorded the highest number of arrests with 64 followed by Nothern Batinah Governorate with 62. During the same week, 339 labourers were deported, "for violating labour laws".
