Omani companies must ensure employee certificates aren't fake

Oman's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has issued a circular on the concern of fake academic certificates and has asked private sector companies to accredit employee certificates through the Ministry of Higher Education.

OCCI said in a statement online: "The Chamber asks the private sector institutions and companies to urge all their employees and students who have qualifications from outside the Sultanate and have not certified them previously, because it is important to accredit these certificates via the electronic system of the Ministry of Higher Education's website, www.mohe.gov.om."

"This circular applies in accordance with decision number 31/2015 of the Ministry of Higher Education, which stipulates that any academic qualification issued by a non-Omani higher education institution shall be considered only in accordance with the provisions of these regulations, " OCCI added.
