Oman tourism: Maitha wins award from Arab Women Council

Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, has won the Golden Shield of Excellence for the Tourism Sector from Arab Women Council, Oman Tourism has tweeted.

“Maitha Al Mahrouqi receives the Golden Shield of Excellence for the Tourism Sector @ArabWomenC award ceremony in the #UAE,” the tweet read.

Recently, the undersecretary was also listed in Forbes Middle East list of The Most Influential Arab Women in Government and The Most Influential Arab Women in Family Business in the MENA region.

The undersecretary had started her career in the airline industry with Emirates as reservation and ticketing, sales and holidays officer. She has worked at senior levels with different airlines and was also the country manager for Oman Air.
