It was a close call for Filipina singer Maria Laroco on "The X Factor UK" as she had to go through a sing-off for the final seat in the talent competition's 6-chair challenge.
Despite wowing the audience and the judges with her rendition of Whitney Houston's "Queen of the Night," Laroco almost got eliminated after Cowell decided to give the Filipina's seat to another contestant and called for a sing-off between the 17-year-old Laroco and Georgia Burgess for the final seat.
Once again, Laroco sang Prince's "Purple Rain," which she also performed in her audition for the hit UK talent show.
But in a surprising decision, Cowell chose both Laroco and Burgess to advance, making them officially part of the final six in the Girls category. In the process, Cowell had to cut Jennifer Owens.
"Okay girls, I'm going to keep you both. That's it, you are the final six," Cowell said.
"That was the hardest thing I've ever done," he admitted.
Also part of the "The Girls" final 6 are Bella Penfold, Scarlett Lee, Molly Scott and Shan Smith.
