UAE-based firm to bring more Philippine products to Middle East

An Abu Dhabi-based firm on Wednesday, August 8, opened a product processing facility and food logistics hub in Calamba City, Laguna for exporting of Filipino products to Middle East and other regions in the world.

 

LuLu Group International through its local unit, May Exports Philippines, opened its Warehouse No. 1 at the Calamba Premiere International Park which will engage in sourcing, storing, packing and exporting Filipino fruit, vegetables and other dry goods and commodities, textiles, electronics, households, furniture and other general merchandise.

Abu Dhabi-based firm to open supermarket in PH

Chair and managing director of LuLu Group International, Yusuff Ali M.A., said that Filipinos in the Middle East choose LuLu Supermarket as a place where they buy their daily needs and make up a big portion of their customers.

He said that for the past several years, their conglomerate has been importing food and non-food products from the Philippines to cater to the large Filipino customers. Yusuff Ali said they have started exporting about USD10 million worth of fruits, vegetables and other commodities from the Philippines through the new facility and would be increased to USD30 to USD100 million within the year.

Yussuff Ali noted that out of their 46,000 global workforce, around 8,000 Filipinos are employed in their various outlets, describing them as “very hardworking, dedicated and sincere.”
