Budget of Saudi Arabia Vs Budget of Other Countries

The Budget of Saudi Arabia: Budget is measured in terms of expenditure done or to be done in a certain time period. Every country makes a budget on annual basis. It is interesting to know that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has an annual budget (2018) of $261 billion which is equivalent to SR 978 billion.

The revenue received from different sources is $209 billion (SR 783 billion). Let us discuss some other interesting facts about this huge budget of Saudi Arabia. There are many countries those have a population larger than Saudi Arabia but their budgets are unbelievably low.

The comparison of Saudi Budget with other countries: There are many countries those can spend many years with the one-year budget of KSA.  The purpose of writing this post is not to criticize the Saudi budget. Every country has its own objectives, resources, and priorities. It is just an informative post.

Pakistan: Pakistan, a country that has 6th largest population in the world and is among the atomic powers, has a budget of $59.280 billion. This is more than 4 times less than the budget of KSA. It means that Pakistan can spend almost 4.35 years with the one-year budget of KSA.

India: India is a country with the second largest population of the world after China. It has a budget of $330 billion which is just $50 above the budget of Saudi Arabia.

Andorra has an annual budget of $2.06 billion. It can spend more than 130 years with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain has an annual budget of $9.78 billion. It can spend 27 years with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Bangladesh: Bangladesh is a country with almost 160 million populations. It is more than 5 times the Saudi population. It would be surprising for many of us that the budget of Bangladesh is only $39 billion.

The budget of Saudi Arabia is 7 times (approx) more than the budget of Bangladesh. It means that Bangladesh can spend more than 13 years with one year budget of KSA.

Belize has an annual budget of $550 million. It can spend almost 475 years (more than 4 centuries) with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Bhutan has an annual budget of $818 million. It can spend more than 319 years (more than 3 centuries) with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Iran: Iran has a population of 78 million but when we look into the budget of this country that has more than double of the population of Saudi Arabia, we see that the budget is $86.26 billion.

The difference in budgets can be interpreted as Iran with its extra population can spend more than 3 years if Iran is provided with the budget of Saudi Arabia.

Jordan has an annual budget of $11.83 billion. It can spend almost 22 years with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Mali has an annual budget of $3.58 billion. It can spend 73 years with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Mauritania has an annual budget of $1.30 billion. It can spend 200 years (almost 2 centuries) with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Nepal has an annual budget of $8 billion. It can spend more than 33 years with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.

Niger has an annual budget of $1.75 billion. It can spend more than 149 years with one year budget of Saudi Arabia.
