Dubai visitor gets 10 years jail for smuggling drugs

A Pakistani man was sentenced to 10 years in prison by a Dubai court after he was caught at Dubai airport with 61 capsules of heroin in his stomach, According Khaleej Times.
 

Public prosecution records show the 29-year-old man, who came to Dubai on a visit visa, was gotten at the Dubai International Airport on May 8.

 

The Court of First Instance convicted him of charges of possession and smuggling of drugs and ordered his deportation after serving his prison time and paying a Dh50,000 fine.
 
The court also ruled that the drugs seized from the defendant be confiscated.

An officer from the counter opiates division of the Dubai Police said that he was doled out to monitor the litigant as he remained at the healing center. "I learned he had just dropped six containers at the air terminal. He at that point took out the staying later at the doctor's facility." 

He admitted amid cross examination he knew the cases contained heroin. He guaranteed he lifted them up from a man in Pakistan and was to convey them to somebody here. He was to get a visa to work here and cash for that activity. 

A report from the General Directorate of Criminal Evidence and Criminology demonstrated the medications seized from the blamed weighed 717.8 grams for heroin. 

The blamed can bid the court conviction managing inside 15 days.
