US Embassy and Consulate in the UAE Temporarily Suspend Consular Services Amid Regional Tensions

The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai have thoughtfully implemented a temporary pause on all standard consular appointments. Officials safely canceled routine services scheduled between July 13 and July 15, citing the ongoing regional security situation as the primary reason for this precautionary measure.

In a formal security alert issued on Monday, the diplomatic mission kindly advised American citizens to avoid traveling to the embassy or consulate during this specific period. The embassy assured the public that affected applicants will be contacted directly and promptly to reschedule their appointments.

Ensuring Citizen Safety and Support

Currently, both diplomatic locations are operating under an ordered-departure status. The government recently relocated non-emergency US personnel outside of the UAE to ensure their well-being. Consequently, the missions are providing highly limited, critical consular assistance at this time.

Citizens requiring emergency passports or urgent assistance are encouraged to easily contact the embassy through the online Citizen Services Navigator. Dedicated consular staff remain available to respond via email with clear, helpful instructions. Meanwhile, all routine visa processing operations remain temporarily suspended until further notice.

Authorities urge American citizens to closely monitor official government channels for safety updates. Find more verified international travel advisories and global updates at The WAU.
