A woman in Michigan, US, ran over her 9-year-old son after he refused to go to school. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail, Buzzfeed reported.
The boy, Julian, refused to get into his elementary school after the 36-year-old mother dropped him off. The boy followed his mother out of school and held onto the passenger side door handle of the car as she drove away.
Police said that the boy hung on for 47 yards before he lost his grip and was run over by the car's back tire. The school's surveillance camera recorded the whole incident.
Julian was in a coma for a week and continues to require physical therapy for his injuries. He suffered multiple broken bones and a fractured skull.
The mother was sentenced to 6 months in jail, of which she will serve only 30 days with the remaining days suspended.
