Trump called his initial meetings with the Chinese delegation extremely positive. He addressed officials during a lavish state banquet at the Great Hall of the People. The American president described the gathering as a cherished opportunity among friends.

Xi Jinping emphasized that both nations must act as partners rather than rivals. He stated the US and China share the most important bilateral relationship globally. He firmly believes both countries gain massive benefits from mutual cooperation.

Touring the Temple of Heaven

The two superpower leaders also toured the historic Temple of Heaven together. Trump praised the breathtaking beauty of the ancient UNESCO heritage site. Xi explained how ancient Chinese rulers used the temple to pray for national prosperity.

Discussing the Strait of Hormuz

The White House confirmed the leaders held very productive discussions today. Trump and Xi successfully agreed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open. This agreement supports the free flow of energy across the globe.

Trump also officially invited Xi Jinping to visit the White House this September. The Chinese leader eagerly accepted the invitation.
