Kuwait’s Minister hopes Duterte to facilitate complete removal of ban on Filipino workers

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid Al-Jarallah affirmed that the Philippines delegation led by Foreign Affairs Secretary Allan Cayetano will forward all necessary recommendations and information concerning the signed agreement to President Rodrigo Duterte to facilitate complete removal of ban on the deployment of Filipino workers, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Jarallah declared that members of the delegation were convinced that President Duterte will take the decision sooner than later to restore the smooth interaction between the two countries over domestics and others workers. He described the successful signing of agreement as “Kuwaiti diplomatic success.”

He assured the agreement will guarantee rights for both parties and protect the interests and rights of workers, as well as the employers. He stated the document also entails the need to respect Kuwaiti laws and its sovereignty, adding “it is a kind of agreement that considers assurances for both sides in terms of interactions over workers’ issues.” He reaffirmed the agreement will allay fears, while resolving misunderstanding and differences associated with the recent issue of workers.
