Death Formalities of an expats in Qatar!!

The death in foreign country will put you into more pain and sadness because of hectic procedures. In Qatar, the procedure will be completed with the help of ministory of interior, ministry of public health, Hamad medical corporation, Qatar Airways, ministry of foreign affairs and the embassies. If the death occurs outside the hospital, must be informed to the police and the contact number for the same is 999. And also it should be informed to the home country. All the other procedures should be done through Humanitarian Service Office.

The step by step procedure is given below:

1. Humanitarian Service Office:

Passport of an Deceased Expat.
ID Card of the person who reported death.
Should fill up the death certification form.
Reason for death issued by the doctor.

2. Ministry of Public Health:

Death notification issued by Humanitarian Service Office.
Passport of an Deceased Expat.
ID Card of the person who reported death.
Form of handling over the body issued by the police if the death has happpened outside the hospital.

Ministry of Public Health issues the following certificates:

Death certificate.
Documents and permission to send bck the deceased expats back to his country.
Burial permission in case if they wish to do that in Qatar itself.

3. Ministry of Interior:

Cancellation of residence permit:
Whom It may concern certification.
Exit permit for the body.

4. Qatar Airways:

It issues the cargo policy and the ticket for who accompanies the body.
