The husband of the prime suspect had accidentally sent a message to his friend.

The incident was earlier reported as a natural death. The murder came to light when the police received a call from a GCC national requesting an ambulance for her African maid, claiming she had fainted. 

After the maid died, investigations revealed signs of old scratches, assault on her body. The sponsor, however, denied any involvement insisting that the maid hurt herself after falling on the ground.

Colonel Ahmed Humaid Al Marri, director of the crime scene investigation department of Dubai Police, said that after the body was transferred to forensic medicine department, reports revealed that the maid's death was caused by multiple injuries on her head and other parts of the body.  

The GCC national was arrested after further investigations confirmed that the maid was beaten on multiple instances. The neighbours testified that they had heard the maid's screams when the sponsor hit her. 

The mystery was solved when the crime scene department traced a message the husband of the suspect had accidentally sent to his friend. In the message, the husband had said that he warned his wife several times to not hit the maid, who unfortunately succumbed to the assault.

The friend went to the police station to report about the SMS and once confronted with the evidence, the woman confessed to the crime.
