Including the encounter killing of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) divisional commander Abu Dujana on Tuesday, a total of 17 most wanted Pakistan backed terrorists were neutralized in a coordinated headhunting by security and intelligence establishment in Jammu and Kashmir this year.
The security forces in J&K have eliminated 117 terrorists, including 17 top heads of LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).
45 encounter took place this year, with a total of 9 encounters in Pulwama, 8 encounters in Kupwara, 7 encounters in Baramulla, 6 in Bandipore, 4 in Anantnag, and 3 in Budgam. In addition, there were 2 encounters each in Srinagar, Kulgam and Rajouri, and 1 each at Poonch and Ganderbal.
With 10 encounters in June and 7 in July, the forces have gone full-force this year. Out of 117 terrorists killed, 37 were from LeT, 27 from HM, and 3 were from JeM. 50 terrorists out of the 117 who were eliminated are yet to be identified.
