Veteran actress BV Radha, who has acted in over 250 films in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films, succumbed to a heart attack on Sunday. She was 70 years old and had even fought cancer and survived it.
Radha was married to late filmmaker-actor KSL Swamy. Following the footsteps of her husband, Radha also had asked for her body to be donated to a medical college and her family paid heed to her wishes and announced that they would do the same.
Radha has spent over five decades in the film industry, where she began her career by starring opposite veteran actor Rajkumar in the 1964-film Navakoti Narayana. Over the years, Radha has grown from being a leading lady to a favourite character artiste and has acted with some off the biggest stars including MG Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, NT Rama Rao, Gemini Ganesan, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jaishankar.
