Quarantine Curation: 10 Maggi recipes to try during the lockdown

Are you also among the ones who plan to survive this 21-day lockdown on Maggi noodles? Well, we feel you!

The instant 2-minute noodles (it's never ready in 2 minutes though) have been a saviour for many of us and have calmed our hunger pangs. Especially for the ones who struggle big time when it comes to cooking. But now that India is under a complete lockdown till April 14, for how long can you keep eating these noodles in the same boring way? No, we are not complaining about the taste. But after a point of time, taste buds do demand some sort of variety, right?

So, to help you out, here we enlist 10 Maggi recipes that you can try during the coronavirus lockdown.

TADKA MAGGI

Love Indian flavours? This recipe is for you. A desi-style tadka of onion, tomatoes and green chilli is all you need to add to your regular Maggi noodles. Here's how to do it:

Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and green chilli. Once the onions turn brown in colour, add chopped tomatoes. Saute until tomatoes are soft. You can also a handful of peas. Now, add water in the same pan and cook the Maggi in the usual manner. (Boil water, add noodles and sprinkle the tastemaker). Don't forget to sprinkle some salt and red chilli powder.

MAGGI CHILLA

This one makes for the perfect breakfast. Prepare a batter with gram flour (besan), water, salt and red chilli. You may also add some chopped vegetables. Mix the batter well and make sure it has a thick yet flowy consistency. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Now, add cooked Maggi to it and mix well.

Heat oil on a flat pan (tawaa).Put the batter and spread it in a gentle manner. Cook on medium flame until both sides are crispy. Relish hot with ketchup.

CHILLI CHEESE GARLIC MAGGI

Here is another super-easy way to turn your basic Maggi into a mouthwatering delicacy. Heat some butter in a pan and add chopped garlic to it. Add water and let it boil. Now, add Maggi noodles, the tastemaker, chilli flakes, and oregano. Once the water evaporates, add cheese and mix well.

OREGANO MAGGI

This one is the easiest to make and never disappoints. You just have to add a packet of oregano to make your Maggi more flavoursome.

MAGGI BHEL

There is a Maggi variant for your constant munching as well - Maggi Bhel. And must we add, it is super easy to prepare. Take a maggi cake, break into small pieces. In a pan, add some oil and dry roast the noodles until they turn golden brown in colour.

Now, in a bowl, add chopped onions, tomatoes and green chillies. Add the roasted Maggi, tomato ketchup, tastemaker, salt and imli chutney (or any other sauce of your choice). Mix well and your Maggi Bhel is ready.

SCHEZWAN MAGGI

To tantalise your taste buds with a hot and spicy cuppa of Maggi, you must try out this recipe. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilli. Now, add sliced onions and capsicum. Saute for around 2 minutes. Add tomato ketchup and schezwan sauce. Add salt as per your taste. Now, add cooked Maggi and mix well.

Instead of preparing both the things in different utensils, you can also pour water and cook the noodles in the onion-sauce mix.

MAGGI PAKORAS

In the evenings, when you crave for sumptuous pakoras, here is a unique recipe you must try out.

Take some gram flour in a bowl. Add water, salt and red chilli. Mix well and let it rest for 10 minutes. Now, add cooked Maggi to the batter.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a wok to deep fry the fritters. Take a small ball-sized mixture and drop it in oil. Stir occasionally and cook until it turns crispy and golden brown.

EGG BHURJI MAGGI

This one is quite easy. You just have to cook egg bhurji and Maggi, and then mix the two. To prepare egg bhurji, heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions and green chilli. Now, add 2 beaten eggs and mix well. Add salt and red chilli as per your taste. Mix the cooked Maggi with bhurji in the pan. Voila, a yummy variant of Maggi noodles is ready.

You can replace eggs with scrambled paneer to make Paneer Bhurji Maggi.

MAGGI SANDWICH

Give your regular sandwiches a Maggi twist. Replace the regular veggies with well-cooked Maggi, and toast the bread slices. To make it tastier, add a cheese slice between the bread slices. However, make sure the Maggi is not soupy. The bread slices will get soggy otherwise.

CREAMY MUSHROOM MAGGI

This one is sure to satiate your craving for restaurant food. And the best part is, it is super easy to prepare.

Heat some butter in a pan. Add chopped garlic and onions. Saute for 2 minutes and then add thinly sliced mushrooms. Sprinkle some salt, black pepper and oregano. Now, add cream and cheese. Stir well. Add cooked Maggi to it and mix well.
