Iran Vows to Defend Nuclear Program as US Extends Blockade

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei declared victory over the US today. He stated the American military suffered a disgraceful defeat recently. He warned that American forces belong at the bottom of the Arabian Gulf. He also called Iran's nuclear and missile programs vital national assets.

US Naval Blockade Redirects Ships

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump warned the naval blockade might last for months. The US Central Command actively redirected 42 commercial vessels recently. These blocked ships carried 69 million barrels of Iranian crude oil.

The US State Department currently builds a new international coalition. They call this group the Maritime Freedom Construct. This coalition aims to secure commercial shipping safely through the Strait of Hormuz.

Waiting for a Revised Peace Plan

Trump confirmed ongoing peace talks with Tehran today. However, he demands Iran formally renounce all nuclear weapon development. White House officials expect a revised Iranian peace proposal by this Friday.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian dismissed the maritime restrictions completely. He stated the naval blockade dooms itself to total failure. He accused Washington of creating dangerous tension across the region.
