Kuwait’s aviation regulator said all flights to and from Kuwait International Airport remained suspended on Thursday due to the unstable weather conditions.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation first suspended all departing flights on Wednesday and said arriving flights would be redirected to Dubai, Bahrain and Dammam.
In an update carried by state news agency KUNA on Thursday, director general of airport affairs Fahad Al-Wugayyan said flights continued to be diverted to Riyadh, Dammam and Manama.
“All flights departing from Kuwait were delayed and all passengers were informed about new schedules,” he was quoted as saying.
Air traffic is expected to remain suspended until 4:00pm local time.
