15 Fan Theories That Claim A Character Wasn’t Real The Whole Time

12. Titanic: Jack Doesn’t Exist

Titanic was released more than 20 years ago yet fans still debate whether Rose could have saved Jack. However, recently a mind-boggling theory was proposed on Reddit which suggests that Jack never actually existed.

According to the theory, Jack was nothing more than a figment of Rose’s imagination. It kind of makes sense when you think about it: Rose is forced to marry a man she neither likes nor respects. According to the theory, Jack represents Rose’s inner strength and it is his presence that allows Rose to break free from her mundane life.

In addition, remember how at the end of the film the treasure hunter tells Rose that they couldn’t find any trace of Jack? She replies with – “No, there wouldn’t be, would there? He exists now only in my memory.”

The characters and the places – such as Central Perk – from the show are simply altered versions of people that Phoebe has met and the places she’s been to – “the final scene would be Phoebe walking away from Central Perk, with the Ross, Rachel, Joey, Chandler and Monica characters making a reference to “the crazy lady who always stares at us.” They all have different names and personalities.”
