5.Have a greater sense of purpose
Always try to vision the big picture, where you want to be in life next 10 or 15 years and what role these manipulative people will have in your life then. One of the main reason why most people get manipulated is because of their lack of purpose. Most of them don't have any concrete vision of life and just going through daily life as if operated by an autopilot.
