Cute 89-year-old grandma invited to grace granddaughter’s wedding–as a bridesmaid!

This grandmother was caught totally by surprise when her granddaughter invited her to be one of her bridesmaids on her wedding day.

Christine Quinn was looking forward to her marriage to Patrick Quinn–who happens to have the same surname–when the whole family and all of their dear friends would be together for a Spring wedding celebration. Suddenly, Quinn had a brainwave—she wondered if Nana Betty would accept an invitation to be her bridesmaid on the big day–after all, they had always shared a great bond.

Nana Betty, 89, accepted, but kept asking her granddaughter enquiringly “Christine, are you sure?” and another time, “Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?” Well, it turns out, Nana Betty was a great choice.

“She had the entire wedding party laughing with her words of wisdom and funny comments throughout the day,” Christine told Huffpost. Nana fulfilled her role as bridesmaid at her wedding perfectly, along with the other bridesmaids.

“Nana got on the party bus with the rest of the wedding party instead of ‘going home to rest’ and did not tell my mom [her daughter]. She also danced the entire night away, including an adorable moment when she and my husband’s grandmother, Bellsie, danced together. It was amazing,” Christine said.

“You’re only as old as you feel and I feel young today,” Nana Betty told Quinn.

A loving bond between people makes them feel beautiful and forever young. What a blessed wedding to have such a wise grandma grace your wedding day!  Perfect!
