Over 450 expats arrested, deported in Oman

A total of 282 expats were arrested for violating Oman’s labour laws and more than 200 were deported from Al Dhahirah, Oman's Ministry of Manpower announced.

According to the Ministry, the arrests were made as part of a joint operation between the Directorate General of Manpower in Al Dhahirah and other government authorities to inspect private sector establishments.

In a statement, the Manpower Ministry said, During the inspection, 282 expats were arrested for violating labour laws, of which 201 workers had left their jobs. Additionally, 220 expats were deported."

The competent authorities at the Ministry of Manpower are currently taking the appropriate legal action against the workers.
