Three Gulf countries set to increase petrol prices during October

The United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar will increase petrol and diesel prices during the month of October.

UAE and Qatar increased prices of all kinds of petrol and diesel from prices set in the month of September. Meanwhile, Oman increased the price of their premium petrol and diesel only.

According to the new prices petrol in the UAE remains the highest priced in the Gulf followed by Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Saudi Arabia remains the country with the lowest priced petrol charging 24 cents for premium, 20 cents for regular petrol and 12 cents for diesel.

International economic advisory groups have recommended that Gulf Countries restructure fuel subsidies to ensure that they reach the required end user instead of benefiting high-income individuals.
