Supreme Committee extends Muscat lockdown

Muscat: The Supreme Committee decided yesterday to continue the Muscat Governorate lockdown till 10 pm of Friday, May 29, 2020 due to the persistent proliferation of coronavirus in some areas, and to protect all members of society from infection.

The committee also decided to end the School Year (2019-2020), so that Thursday, May 7, 2020 will be the last day of the school year.

The committee also authorised the Ministry of Education to endorse a suitable alternative to calculate results for promoting students from class 1 to 12 and their equivalents.

Under the chairmanship of Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, the Supreme Committee held the meeting that exhorted all members of society to take steps for prevention of COVID-19 infection, notably precautions of social distancing and avoidance of assembly or large gatherings.

At the conclusion, the Supreme Committee prayed to the Almighty Allah to protect all people against all harms.
