1More is a relatively new brand in the Indian market when it comes to audio products. The company, however, offers a complete range of earphones and headphones across different price segments. Recently, it launched its Piston Classic earphones which comes with a price tag of Rs 1,499 and offers premium look and design. The device claims to offer excellent audio quality at this price point. But is it really any good?

We used the 1More Piston Classic for some time and here's what we think of it.

Design

1More Piston Classic comes across as stylish and trendy looking pair of in-ear headphones. The earbuds are made of aluminium and are attached to a cable made up of Kevlar fibre which provides extra strength and durability to the device. The upper cable of the headphones is made up to TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) which enhances the softness level. The lower part of the earphones is braided with nylon to help it keep tangle free. The cable also consists of a three button remote. The centre button functions as the mic while the buttons on the side are used to control the volume levels. The remote is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Weighing 23 grams, the pair of earphones is quite lightweight and fits comfortably in the ears. We found the build quality of the 1More Piston Classic to be quite good. Keeping in mind the price, the device offers surprisingly premium looks.

Performance

1More Piston Classic comes with dual layer composite driver made of titanium. The device comes with dual damping system which takes the pressure off the driver to reduce fatigue and distortion. The headphones come with a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz. The earphones have a Y-type which we think is sufficient in length. The canal-style earbuds provide a good fit and noise isolation.

The 1More Piston Classic delivers good sound performance with crisp and sharp playback. There is minimal audio leakage from the headphones and we were able to listen to music at relatively high levels without annoying people sitting next to us.
The earphones offer good amount of bass and we didn't encounter any issue while listing to mid, high or low tones. The device performed fairly well when it comes to answering calls. The mic performed well and there was no problem in answering calls. Whether indoor or outdoor, the headphones were great in terms of music experience and answering calls

Verdict

The 1More Piston Classic comes with a price tag of Rs 1,499 and can be your next buy, if you are looking for a lightweight pair of earphones. The earphones offer good audio experience and come with an excellent build quality. If you want a good pair of earphones and don't want to spend a bomb then you can buy the premium looking Piston Classic. However, those looking for alternatives can consider Skullcandy Smokin' Buds which fall under the same price bracket.
