Sharjah Dates Festival Concludes Successful Season With Over One Million Visitors

The three-month event brought shoppers together to celebrate the local harvest.

The 11th Souq Al Jubail Dates Festival in Sharjah has officially concluded. The highly popular event enjoyed a very successful three-month season. It attracted an incredible 1.131 million visitors over that time. The Emirates News Agency shared these impressive final attendance numbers today.

The event brought thousands of eager shoppers together in one place. They gathered to buy fresh dates and delicious seasonal produce. It also celebrated the deep date-growing traditions of the UAE. Dedicated dates retailers based at Souq Al Jubail took part eagerly.

Outside exhibitors also joined to offer visitors a massive, broad choice.

Shoppers could find many different locally produced varieties of dates. The festival offered hard-working traders a chance to reach far more customers. This is incredibly important during the busy autumn harvest season. It also helped draw national attention to the different dates grown locally.

Several premium varieties were heavily promoted at the start of the season. These included the popular Khalas, Barhi, Khunaizi, Lulu, and Shishi dates. Abdullah Al Shamsi is the Senior Manager at Sharjah Markets.

He noted the massive turnout reflected strong demand for local products.

The festival significantly helped support overall commercial activity at the bustling market. The dates festival is one of Souq Al Jubail’s most important seasonal events. The market itself is a proud project of Sharjah Asset Management. They serve as the official investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.

The event beautifully combines shopping with a showcase of national food traditions. The UAE harvest season remains a vital part of local culture.
