NRTC Group Invests Dh50 Million in New Fresh Food Facility in Dubai

NRTC Group has launched a new Dh50 million Taaza food processing facility in Dubai's Jebel Ali Industrial Area 1, marking an important step in expanding its fresh food business. Covering more than 60,000 square feet, the facility is designed to serve restaurants, hotels, retailers and other foodservice businesses across the UAE. It brings together fresh produce preparation, washing, sanitisation, cutting, juice processing and flexible packaging under one roof. The investment aims to improve operational efficiency while meeting the growing demand for convenient and customised fresh food products.

New Facility to Strengthen Fresh Food Processing

The new Taaza centre combines semi-automated operations with flexible food preparation and packaging solutions. Businesses can access customised vegetable cuts, specific portion sizes, bulk packaging and private-label products according to their requirements. Separate processing areas and temperature-controlled environments have also been introduced to support hygiene and maintain product quality. These facilities are expected to help restaurants and hospitality operators simplify their kitchen preparation processes. The development also strengthens NRTC's position in the UAE's fresh food supply chain.

NRTC Taaza Plans to Expand Ready-to-Eat Food Range

Beyond its existing fresh-cut vegetables and juice products, NRTC Taaza is planning to introduce several convenient food options. The proposed range includes sandwiches, wraps, dips, continental dishes and healthier prepared meals. The company is also considering a kitchen operation with a production target of approximately 2,000 meals per day. Quick-service restaurants will remain an important focus for its expansion strategy. NRTC aims to increase the quick-service restaurant segment's contribution to Taaza's business from 20% in the first year to 40% within three years.

Global Supply Network Supports Dubai Expansion

The new investment builds on NRTC Group's extensive supply network, which covers more than 50 countries and handles approximately one million tonnes of fresh produce annually. By connecting its international sourcing operations with local processing capabilities, the company aims to provide more customer-ready food solutions. Group CEO Mohammed Alrifai described the facility as an important step towards developing a more integrated food supply chain. The expansion is expected to create new opportunities across the UAE's retail, hospitality and foodservice sectors while supporting the changing needs of businesses and consumers.
