A man accused for abducting and threatening to burn a woman had his prison term drove to two years rather than five in Abu Dhabi. He will be deported after serving his sentence, khaleejtimes reported.
The man had allegedly been dating the victim for a long time and supported her financially when she decided to end the relationship.
She quit answering his calls, and their relationship weakened further. One day, she called him at 10pm and requesting that he drop her to her residence.
Instead of taking her home, he allegedly took an alternate route, drove into the desert, and started attacking her.
He restrained her up and brought a bottle of petrol and threatened to burn her if she didn't have sex with him. She screamed and started fighting him until a passing police patrol car saw them.
After waving to them, they told him to halt his car, but he refused and continued driving.
