A 50 per cent discount on vehicle confiscation fees has been announced by Fujairah Police on Tuesday.
The announcement was made in honor of the Year of Zayed initiative, and is applicable to all non-hazardous offenses.
The discount period began on July 1 and will last till September 30 of this year.
According to the police source, the offender will be given this allowance so long as he or she undertakes to be more law-abiding and avoid repeating the offense.
Maj. Gen. Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, General Commander of Fujairah Police, this initiative aims to increase happiness of UAE citizens and expats because of the Year of Zayed. It also helps them to be more aware of traffic violations and rules as a whole.
Brigadier Ali Rashid bin Awash Al Yamani called on citizens to take advantage of the discount period to clear all their accumulated traffic fines.
