Heavier Rainfall Possible During November
The UAE could experience several spells of rainfall during the first half of November, with weather conditions potentially becoming more unsettled across the country. According to weather expert Ibrahim Al Jarwan, colder weather systems could move across the region and bring more widespread showers. The second week of November may witness stronger weather activity, including heavier rainfall in some areas. These developments could mark a shift towards more winter-like conditions across the Emirates. However, the timing and intensity of rainfall remain uncertain as forecasts become less reliable over longer periods.
Weather Forecast Accuracy Depends on Timing
Meteorologists use different forecasting periods to understand upcoming weather conditions and identify possible changes. Short-range forecasts covering the next 48 hours generally provide the most reliable information, with accuracy exceeding 90 per cent. Medium-range predictions covering three to eight days offer useful guidance, although their reliability gradually decreases. Forecasts extending beyond nine days are less dependable and should be considered possible weather trends rather than confirmed events. Experts therefore recommend following updated forecasts before making decisions based on expected rainfall.
El Niño Could Influence UAE Rainfall
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has indicated a 96 per cent probability of El Niño conditions continuing between November 2026 and March 2027, potentially extending into April. Its seasonal outlook suggests that temperatures and rainfall across the UAE could remain near or above their usual averages. El Niño is a natural climate phenomenon that develops when temperatures in parts of the Pacific Ocean become warmer than normal. These changes can influence atmospheric circulation and indirectly affect weather patterns across the Arabian Peninsula. However, El Niño alone does not guarantee heavy rainfall or severe weather in the UAE.
Residents Advised to Follow Official Weather Updates
The intensity of rainfall will depend on several factors, including atmospheric moisture, wind movement and the strength of approaching low-pressure systems. While November could bring periods of unsettled weather, experts have highlighted the uncertainty surrounding long-range predictions. Residents should monitor regular weather updates to stay informed about changing conditions across different emirates. Motorists and outdoor workers should pay attention to official weather advisories whenever rain or strong winds are forecast. Further updates from meteorological authorities will provide a clearer picture of the UAE's weather conditions as November approaches.
