UAE police arrest man for filming, mocking petrol pump employee

The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution issued a warrant to detain the man responsible for ridiculing a petrol station worker on Wednesday.

This comes as the latest update in the story of the petrol station worker who was filmed while a customer paid him in coins.

In a series of tweets, the public prosecution affirmed that such incidents do not represent the UAE's culture or its values. Anyone who exhibits such offensive actions are liable for prosecution as per the law.

The video had gone viral on social media networks, spurring a backlash for its tasteless and disrespectful mockery.

Adnoc's Youth Council paid a visit to the worker at his place of work, honoring him for reacting appropriately to the provocation.

He remained true to the highest standards of customer service.

Adnoc posted several images of the visit on their twitter handle, lauding the worker's exemplary behavior.
