Up to 8ft waves to hit UAE on Wednesday

Fresh winds and rough seas will continue this evening until 8pm on Wednesday according to an advisory by the UAE's weather bureau.

There will be waves up to 8 feet in the Arabian Gulf, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.

Earlier, it was a hazy and partly cloudy Tuesday morning in the UAE with the minimum temperature recorded at 23.1°C in Jais Mountain at 5:45am, the weather office said.

"The sky will remain partly cloudy throughout the day," NCM said.

The NCM added that there will be moderate to fresh winds in general, which may cause blowing dust over some exposed areas.

Monday's maximum temperature settled at 46.9°C, while the minimum was recorded at 23.1°C.  The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 48 °C.

The winds will veer southeasterly to northeasterly, 14 - 32, reaching 40kph at times in the internal areas during day time.

Meanwhile, the NCM stated that sea current will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Oman Sea.
