Why Dubai Ruler promoted a customs officer

Dubai Media office also announced the news of the officer’s promotion, and said that Shaikh Mohammad, “ordered the promotion of Al Badwawi, the passport officer at the Hatta border crossing of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, to the rank of First Officer starting from June16, as an appreciation for the way he dealt with travellers passing through the check-point.”

Major-General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, director general of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), said: "This award reflects Shaikh Mohammad's keenness to recognise the efforts of outstanding employees in the performance of their duties, and the keenness of all members of the department to work with seriousness and diligence.” 

First Officer Al Badwawi said: “I consider the promotion as a medal on my chest from a leader who values the efforts and accomplishments of his children, which stems from the customs and values of the sons of Shaikh Zayed, who instilled in us the meaning of generosity, goodness and honour.”
