Stephen Paddock, the man responsible for the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history was well planned and had an arsenal of weapons at his disposal. Over 59 people have been confirmed to have been fatally injured in the massacre and over 500 people have sustained injuries.

A retired Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer reported that Paddock had checked into the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino three days before he fired at random people who were attending a country music festival.

Randy Sutton also added that he could not have brought all the weapons into the property in one trip. Paddock must have made multiple trips over three days to bring in the guns which were found in his hotel room. He had somehow managed to hide the weapons from the staff of the hotel.

Paddock had rented a room on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay. Assistant Clark County Sheriff Todd Fasulo spoke to the press in which he said that they found 23 guns in Paddock’s room and another 19 firearms and bombs back in his home in Mesquite, Nevada which is about 80 miles from where the shooting took place.

A majority of the weapons found in the room were military-style rifles and two were modified with a device which allows the user to fire quickly without converting the rifle to a fully automatic mode.

Investigators found an explosive known as tannerite at Paddock’s Mesquite home. Paddock is said to have purchased weapons legally from many gun stores but they were not the same ones found in the hotel room.

The exact weapon used to Paddock is yet to be confirmed by the police but they said that he used a hammer-like object to break open the hotel windows and shoot at the crowd.

Paddock does not have any criminal records and no traffic violations. The investigators have not 
been able to pinpoint the motive behind the attack. He has not been linked to any terrorist organization either.
