Four people were killed, including a heart transplant patient , when an air ambulance crashed this afternoon.
The patient and three crew members were killed when the Piper PA 31 plane went down in Nevada, USA.
It happened shortly after take off at Elko Regional Airport when the small plane crashed into a nearby car park, reports the New York Post .
No one on the ground was injured according to local reports.
The patient was being taken to the University of Utah when the tragic incident happened.
A statement by the plane company American Medflight read: "We are devastated by this event and wish we had answers to the many questions being asked at this time.
"We are cooperating fully with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration as they investigate the accident."
It added: "Our priority at this time is to look after the well-being of the affected family members and their co-workers and to be responsive to their needs."
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
