HBO: Social Media Channels Hacked

Recently, HBO Spain accidentally aired the latest episode of season seven of ‘Game of Thrones (GoT)’ four days before the official date of airing. It had caused a stir in the highly impatient audience community that awaits each episode week by week on Television and online subscriptions.

The trouble intensified this Wednesday night, when a group of hackers that go by ‘OurMine’ took over HBO’s social media accounts. The hackers’ tweet was a cheeky remark insinuating that the network doesn’t have a very good security system, and that they should contact the hackers for an upgrade. HBO was able to remove the tweet soon after it was posted.

This ‘GoT’ hacking spree was first reported on July 31st when hackers released online a series of unaired episodes of HBO owned shows along with some internal company data.
