Is Dawood Ibrahim critical in Pakistan hospital? Family reportedly denies

India's most wanted man and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, who has been hiding in Pakistan for a long time, is reportedly in a critical condition at a Karachi hospital after a heart stroke.

According to unverified reports, Dawood is reportedly unwell and admitted to a Karachi hospital following heart stroke. His condition is said to be critical.

Talking to India Today, Chhota Shakeel said, "Dawood Ibrahim is absolutely hale and hearty. All news reports about his being unwell are completely false."

Another unconfirmed report suggested that Dawood had suffered a paralytic attack following which he was hospitalised. The report suggested that the mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts is on ventilator after a surgery to remove a brain tumour failed. The report suggested that at the time Dawood suffered the attack, he was at his posh Clifton area residence in Karachi. The report also said that the right side of his body was completely paralysed.

The report also suggested that Indian intelligence agencies have been keeping a close watch on Dawood's condition.
However, family sources rubbished the reports saying that Dawood was fit and fine and that all such rumours were nothing but hoaxes. The family source even said that Dawood had called to check on the well being of his wife Mehjabeen's uncle Salim who is currently hospitalised.

The fugitive mafia boss is wanted for orchestrating the 1993 Mumbai blasts that killed over 250 people and has been running his underworld empire from Pakistan since his escape from India 23 years ago. He has been on the United Nations Security Council's sanctions list since 2003.

Pakistan has always denied that Dawood is in the country.

Dawood is the son of a Mumbai police constable who got involved with gang members of Haji Mastan. He was first arrested for a robbery case in the 1980's.
