Reasons As To Why The PSLV Mission Failed

The IRNSS-1K satellite’s launch into orbit failed due to the heat shield not separating during the final few minutes of ISRO’s PSLV-C39 mission.

The velocity of the satellite was affected because it was carrying an extra 1 tonne as the heat shield failed to detach which in turn reduced its speed from 9.5 km per second to 8.5 km per second.

If the mission was to be a success then the heat shield should have opened and then released the satellite.
